damn sucks hopefully all goes well for you but hey quick question how long have you had your d675 for? I was looking into getting an 09 but hearing all these stories of the d675 breaking down doesnt give me hope of even getting one since I've seen first hand issues that people get alot on these bikes....

i've had it for a little less than a year
previous owner had it for about 2 years (1 year in storage)

the problem mine had is a known problem with the 675's that triumph has yet to fix.
the major problems that people have are

1. crappy rectifier / regulator (easily fixed by splicing in one from a 08 and up R1 or CBR 1000)
2. crappy cam chain tensioner
3. EXBV valve gets jammed once in awhile....but that won't prevent the bike from running if it does. you just get a CEL

other than that....that's about it.....pretty much problems any bike can have.

i'll tell you one thing though....it puts the fattest smile on my face even just looking at her. it's unique, it's fast, it's nimble, and IMHO beats the crap out of the jap I4s since they're all so similar.

no offense to those with GXRS, R6s, and CBRs  Tongue
i just like to be unique....haha

No offense taken on the I4 thing, they are def very similar and I always thought to each his own, which is why I bought a first gen r6 rather then getting something newer. I also wanted something slightly more unique as a lot of people have crashed their first gens already.

Those motor results are nothing short of amazing, however the oil he put in there probably had a little to do with that as it helped it seal a little better. However hand cranked those are some good numbers. The picture of the first spark plug looked like maybe that cylinder was used and the others looked new, I wonder why that is. Anyways the pictures would be enough proof for me. Should be a good buy especially at 500 bucks I don't think you are going to run into any surprises.

Anyways good luck, I personally was looking at daytonas myself and if I ever got one it would have to be an 05+ I absolutely hate the styling on the 04.

PS. this spell check doesn't miss a beat.

motor had approximately 7000 miles on it when it went....but that's because of a faulty cam chain tensioner (which a lot of Triumph bikes have......at least before they went to hydraulic CCTs in 2009).

luckily....i found the bolt that sheared off and it didn't actually enter the crank case.....so i should be able to just rebuild the old motor and sell it  Grin
