hey guys, it's come to my attention that a lot of you guys don't have a rear stand to do some easy do-it-yourself maintenance! Bei Bei and i split the cost of one a while back and it's with me, so if you guys ever need a rear stand to do some maintenance, message me and we can work out a time for you guys to come over.

i can teach you guys how to clean/lube your chain, perhaps do an oil change or something.

you guys are more than welcome! it's a pitbull stand so you don't need swingarm spools or anything (though if you have them that's cool too) it just lifts ride underneath any swingarm and picks the bike right up!

i need to lube my chain soon....haha....

the only problem with lubing the chain is you gotta let it sit for a few hours to let it sink into the chain  Undecided need to find some time to do that....unless you'd be willing to just let me borrow the rear stand  Tongue

wait really? i wasn't aware that you need to let it sit for a few hours...
i know when you spray the cleaner on you have to let it sit for like 5 minutes to let the cleaner soak in, but the lube if you apply it on the insides when you ride it'll distribute to where it needs to be
plus it's best to lube the chain after you've been riding so that the chain is nice and warm/hot so the cleaner can work faster and the lube distributes better

this is what i learned from some youtube video and it's worked for my bike so far

i agree it's best to clean / lube after you ride as the chain is warm....

but with the lube....i've tried riding with it after 10 minutes of letting it sit....and let's just say my jeans got white spots allllll over them afterwards :p

I also have a rear stand if anyone needs to use it.

Yes, its best for the chain to be warm and to let it degrease for awhile, but a "few hours" seems a bit excessive - 20 min works fine.

yeah i got motul chain clean and motul chain lube, i think WD-40ing your chain is probably a short term solution long term problem, don't think it was ever meant to be used as lube for high performance machines like your 636 =P, or any vehicle for that matter.

but yeah you're welcome to use it, or scott's since he offered =P

Its worked for the last 1000-2000 miles. Can says its meant to lubricate and all too. Dunno, maybe it would work, maybe it wouldnt. Never used anything else though. Just that for the duration of my ownership of the 636. Anyways, I wouldnt mind trying some chain lube though.

Youre fine then. If its under warranty they would have to fix it. Especially if you havent done anything to the bike.

What did you think was wrong with it? Leaking-wise
