So I'm thinking about getting a new car (probably by the end of summer, most likely sometimes in mid July-early August.) I'm not a huge muscle fan like Mo and Eric, but I won't settle for anything that's not M/T
Cars I've narrowed it down to are as follows: Acura TSX Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-Spec VW GTI Mazdaspeed 3
G37 is out of my price range and 370Z is too impractical (only 2 seats, and also out of my price range.) I'm really leaning towards the speed 3 but I'm worried that insurance will be a crapload.
Thoughts? Any alternatives that I haven't listed above?

Really? I would figure out of all of the above the TSX would have the lowest insurance cost, seeing how it's a sedan and not really sporty.

you would think that.....but Acuras are classified as luxury cars and are amongst the most commonly stolen cars unfortunately. thus....replacement parts when going through insurance is REALLY expensive. i'll put it this way....i have a 99 TL....full coverage for me is around $1200 / year. I know you could get it cheaper with just liability.....but I don't like taking the risk I'd love to have a TSX as well.....but insurance would suckkkk are you getting a brand new car or buying a "new-to-you" car?

Cooper S
Yeah thought about that, but I want practicality along with the fun. I drive my friend's Cooper S all the time up in the canyons and it's fun as hell, but it can't store much at all and the people the backseat better not have legs...

Brand new, parents don't want me dabbling in used cars. I would have to agree. I mean on a bike, you can see basically everything that could potentially be wrong and can still overlook things, I wouldn't trust a car where I can barely see any of the inner workings. I might consider pre-owned at a dealership but I dunno. Dealerships are just shady, period.
